Andre Le Roux

André Le Roux started his dog career in the military. After the military he worked as a Mine Detection dog handler in various African countries and Bosnia Herzegovina. He was the co-founder of the Mine Dog Centre South Africa which later became the mine dog school in conjunction with Mine Tech International and he is still the owner of the dog school property. Part of his joint managing director duties were to oversee the training of dogs, new handlers, and personally deploying and accrediting dogs and handlers in over 14 countries on 5 continents. He also served as part of the advisory group for the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD). In this time Andre was part of compiling a puppy socializing program for demining dogs.

 

 

 

 

 

To further his knowledge in detection dogs, he worked in Afghanistan as a Mission Dog Handler attached to the Canadian military to clear roads and patrol routes for Improvised Explosive Devises (IED’s)

Rocco Butterfield

Rocco Butterfield started as a dog handler in the military. He worked at the Roodeplaat Training Organisation (RTO) as an Explosive Detection Dog (EDD) Handler. Since then he has worked as Mine a Detection Dog (MDD) handler, Team leader and MDD/EDD Manager in Africa, Middle East, Europe and Asia. He has worked for US Dept. of State, US Dept. of Defence and South African Government to mention but a few. He has also worked as Mechanical Demining Technical Advisor, Train the Trainer Instructor and Quality Assurance for UNOPS. Rocco moved over to the security industry and worked as PSD/CPO, Logistics Manager, Project Manager and Country Manager for various companies over the years.

Michael Van Lelyveld

Michael Van Lelyveld started his dog career in the military in 1992. After the military he worked as a Mine Detection Dog handler in Mozambique, Nicaragua, Kosovo, Lebanon and deployed as an Explosive Detection Dog handler in Iraq. Michael completed his IMAS Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) level 4 with the Danish Army EOD School in Denmark and worked in various positions that include: EOD Technical Advisor, UXO Safety Officer, UXO Quality Control and Operations Manager for contracts under the United States Army Core of Engineers (USACE) in Afghanistan
